Located in Zanesville, OH, Countryside Bulk Foods is a one-stop shopping destination for bulk foods, grocery essentials, variety store items, full service deli with made-to-order sandwiches, and homestyle bakery.  During the growing season, stop by for seasonal flowers at plants at the greenhouse which is located adjacent to the store.

I drove from Lancaster, Ohio after my work day to Zanesville to this store after checking their store hours on the website learning they close at 530pm I arrived at 5:22p.m and passed a customer leaving as I walked in.
I ask the guy behind the counter for 2lbs of butter cheese and he stood looking at me as I had ask for gold. He then ask if I wanted it in a block. I politely stated no I would like to have it sliced. Standing and looking at one of his coworker who stood with a smirk another male emerged from the back and told me they shut the slicer off at 20 after and refused to slice the cheese. I explained that I had driven from Lancaster, Ohio because their website stated they close at 530pm or I wouldn’t have driven so far. I also explained that nowhere on there website did it state they will not slice anything if it’s 520pm. They were rude and I found it to be unprofessional. Just bad business
I will not be returning to make anymore purchases.

The men who work here are all smiles and friendly. However, most of the women just look at you with hate filled expressions even when you smile and ask them how they are doing. Not sure what their problem is.

If you want sugary products, this is the place as that is mostly what they sell here. Just be prepared for a less than friendly experience if you get a female cashier.

This is a cute little market with tons of homemade goodies. Candies and fudge. Soaps and seasonings. The people are super nice and the prices are great.
