Brookview Builders is Penn Yan New York’s source for quality carpentry and building contracting at reasonable prices. Owner Leonard Horst and his team specialize in building interior staircases and offer trim carpentry for jobs of any size. They provide pole barn construction for various sizes of buildings. In addition, they specialize in building decks for homes, pools, and docks.

Brookview Builders built our 2-tier deck/stairs in August/September 2024.
Not only did they do a wonderful job, but they possess the qualities that so many people looking to hire a contractor would want, making our experience with them very easy and low maintenance. Specifically, they:
* were fairly priced;
* started the job on schedule and completed it within the estimated timeframe;
* had a stellar work ethic, putting in long, full days;
* cleaned up the work area at the end of each day, kept materials/supplies neat and tidy;
* were skilled in their craft (We didn’t feel like we had to stand over them or check their work);
* were trustworthy (They had full access to our place during this project, even when we were not present)
* were pleasant, friendly, respectful;
* were collaborative with solutions when we needed a ‘work around’;
* suggested aesthetic options;
* were responsive to our inquiries and communicated with us throughout the project
When our project was over, we kinda missed having them around! 😊
We would definitely hire them again and have no hesitation about recommending them to others. Thanks Leonard, Wilson, and Michael for all your hard work. We will enjoy our deck for many years to come.

Leonard and His crew are great to work with. They do fantastic work, and they took the lead on several large portions of our house build. They did the initial rough framing of the house, and they came back to insulate and installed our reclaimed barn wood tongue and groove cathedral ceilings. They most recently returned this spring to frame the wrap around covered porch and install hardwood sapele decking as well as beaded tongue and groove ceilings.
I highly recommend working with this team of TRUE Craftsmen.
