I'm known to be brutally honest with my reviews sometimes getting me hate mail but I call it as I see it. So we have been looking into options for a workshop type shed for some time now and since most of what we had looked into were either way out of our price range or the process was just insanely complicated my wife happened to see a larger garage type structure at one of the locations where they display buildings so we hopped in the car and after visiting three different locations we ran into Jerry. From that point on it was clear how easy and how much money we could save taking this route while at the same time buying a building of the highest quality. First Jerry listened to all of my requests to go against the norm and wrote up a building plan that was exactly what we needed. Insulated doors and windows, insulated floor, extra bracing at the overhead door space to accommodate a skid steer and of course I wanted the overhead on the side and not on the end as they normally install them. No Problem! I also have problems with lifting my feet from nerve damage from a failed spinal fusion and Jerry was also able to accommodate that as well by modifying the center splice panels from diamond plate aluminum which made them the perfect thickness. Scheduling ran ahead of time which I know they are incredibly busy and I know why, because they know what they do and are all true professionals and craftsmen. Jerry set us up with a guy to prepare a pad to place this large structure on and we couldn't have been happier with the job they did and the professional attitude each of them exhibited. When the building arrived (first half) I was surprised to see just one man and the big truck, trailer and Mule vehicle for moving buildings and he has obviously done this several times as he tucked it right in its spot like a glove. The next day the second half of the building arrived along with the driver, Jerry and another man who all worked together to bind both halves together perfectly. Jerry checked all of the doors and windows operation and made sure I had the keys and explained that the door threshold is adjustable in case it were to swell in the colder upcoming weather. There were two small dings in the siding from the mule vehicle shifting the second half into place and Jerry offered to replace the panels but to me it was such a minor cosmetic issue that I wasn't worried about it. He also told me to call him if we ever have any questions or concerns with our new building. So there is my brutally honest review of Hometown Structures of Platteville WI. I am very happy with the building, the cost of the building and the type of true craftsmen they have building these structures. I was once a facilities coordinator in my past employment and hired contractors for large and small projects, and these guys are top notch. If you are looking for a small or large shed or garage these guys know what they are doing and throwing a wrench or 4 in the plan doesn't make them blink , they build it the way you want it and it WILL be right.
