About Us

Custom Cabinetry Built to Last…

Witmer Cabinetry and Design was founded by Lucas and Marie Witmer, who were raised in the Amish community of Grabill, Indiana. Lucas began woodworking at 13 in a small garage next to his father’s horse barn, creating furniture and honing his skills while working at his father’s lumber company. This hands-on experience shaped his craftsmanship from an early age.

After marrying Marie in 2010, the couple built their homestead in 2014 on land purchased from Lucas’s father. To save money, Lucas built the cabinetry for their new home himself. The experience sparked a passion for kitchen and bath design, leading him to take on more custom projects to support their growing family.

In 2016, they committed to the business full-time and hired their first employee. Outgrowing their home garage, they expanded into a 3,100 sq. ft. shop in 2018, followed by an additional 8,000 sq. ft. expansion in 2025.

Today, Witmer Cabinetry serves clients across Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and beyond. Known for custom craftsmanship, they use high-quality components like Blum, Rev-A-Shelf, and Century, offering solid wood construction, soft-close features, and durable finishes. Their motto: “We’re not happy unless the customer is happy,” reflects their commitment to excellence, integrity, and faith.

    We looked all around for the perfect cabinet maker for our kitchen renovation. When we found Witmer cabinets, we knew that we found what we were looking for.
    Every detail was taken care of with excellence. Our cabinets were even finished ahead of time which was a welcomed surprise.
    The process of picking everything out was so easy with Luke. We were able to follow along with the cabinets being made and see the progress along the way. And even the installation was excellent. The team that installed was professional, friendly and great at what they do.
    The cabinets are beautifully crafted, solid, every cabinet exceeded our expextations. We are in love with the kitchen and the cabinets are the best part.

    We completely remodeled our kitchen and wanted to work with someone who we could easily design, build and install our new kitchen. Luke Witmer was absolutely the perfect person since he spent time designing to our specifications. He also provided suggestions that enhanced our design to make our kitchen perfect for us. He worked with our other contractors on timing of work and factored in the appliances perfectly. Through his professionalism he installed our perfect kitchen with amenities we hadn’t thought of when the design began! What a pleasant experience to develop our dream kitchen!     We highly recommend working with Witmer Cabinetry. We worked with Luke to do our kitchen renovation about ten years ago and love our cabinets and built ins, they are just beautiful and functional and have stood the test of time! And, we recently redid one of our bathrooms and Luke built a beautiful vanity cabinet and storage cabinet for our bathroom.

    We had an outstanding experience with Whitmer Cabinetry. Their design guidance was thoughtful, shop drawings were clear, and the build quality exceeded expectations—tight reveals, consistent grain matching, and durable finishes. Installation was organized, clean, and on schedule. Just as important, their communication was proactive and solutions-oriented. As a custom builder, we rely on partners who care as much as we do.
